A whole house, a couple of rooms, or just the ceilings and trim that are letting the place down. Whichever it is, I'll come and look at it properly before I put a price on it.
Most of a good interior repaint happens before any colour goes on. I’ll fill and sand the walls, feather out whatever patching has been done before, seal the stains so they don’t ghost back through, and rub the trim down so the new coat has something to hold onto. It’s the unglamorous half of the job and it’s where the days go, but it’s also the difference between a room that still looks sharp in five years and one that doesn’t.
After that it’s two full coats, cut in by hand around the ceilings and joinery, with the doors, skirting and window frames sprayed wherever that gives a cleaner finish than a brush would.
Ceilings, walls, skirting, architraves, doors, and window sashes and frames. Feature walls and painted arches come up more often than you’d expect, and they’re some of my favourite jobs. Bathrooms and laundries get a moisture-resistant product so the steam doesn’t undo the work. And if all you want is the ceilings and trim freshened up before the house goes on the market, that’s a job in its own right and I’ll price it that way.
There’s no need to move out or put anything into storage. I work through a room or two at a time, shift the furniture into the middle and cover it, mask the floors and fittings, and put the room back together before starting the next one. If it’s a rental sitting empty between tenants, I’ll do the whole place in one run instead and get it back on the market faster.

For a whole-house scheme I can arrange a proper consultation through Resene or Dulux. Sheen matters as much as the colour does: flat on ceilings so it doesn’t pick up every roller mark, low sheen on walls, and something harder on doors and trim so the fingerprints wipe straight off.

Filling, sanding, spot-priming and sealing, with your furniture moved and covered first. This is the part that takes the longest and matters the most.

A couple of rooms is usually a few days. A full house interior is more like two to three weeks, depending on how much prep it needs and how much trim there is. You'll get a realistic timeframe with the quote rather than a best case that slips.
Usually, yes. Patching, filling and small skim repairs are part of the prep on every job I do. One ceiling I did recently was fifteen metres by five and had been patched badly by someone else years before. It took a while, but it came back to a smooth finish with no brush strokes showing anywhere. Full gib stopping on brand new walls is the one thing I leave to the stoppers.
Dulux, Resene or Aalto, depending on what the room actually needs. I hold trade accounts with all three so I'm not tied to one brand. A ceiling, a steamy bathroom and a hallway that gets knocked about every day all want different products, and whichever I've picked will be named on your quote.
